Champagne from Champagne par Excellence - unique personalisation options for your occasion

“The Party at the Palace”
at the Duchess Palace
(Mansfield Street, London W1)

The "Party at the Palace" was held at the Duchess Palace, brought to you by Fusion Promotions and sponsored by Champagne par Excellence.

More than 250 guests from the London PR, Marketing and PA arenas had the privilege of witnessing the public launch of the House of Pierrel and their outstanding products onto the UK market. They were all invited to sample three of Pierrel's finest Champagnes and to listen to our Guest of Honour for the evening, Xavier Rousset.

Master Sommelier Xavier Rousset joined Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons as Chef Sommelier in 2004. He was a finalist in the prestigious Ruinart UK Sommelier of the Year in 2001 and his commitment was recognised in 2002 as he was announced winner of this award.

Xavier , employed by Champagne par Excellence, and not by Pierrel, offered an impartial opinion of the Champagnes. He liked all three Champagnes, grading his favourite, “Les Traditions” 8 out of 10 for quality and taste, and 9 out of 10 for value for money. (See his tasting notes below)

Tasting Notes of Xavier Rousset

Xavier Rousset’s favourite champagnes from Pierrel, part of ‘Les Traditions’, ‘Les Floressences’ and ‘Les Oressences’ ranges (from £15.63 + VAT and delivery. (Please ask for details).

1. Pierrel, ‘Les Traditions’ Brut Noirs & Blancs

Ripe pear, hint of white pepper on the nose, biscuity undertone. On the palate, showing some weight well balance by a refreshing acidity, a Champagne that could do with some slightly spicy food such as pan fried scallops with ginger foam, as served in Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons.
Eight out of ten for quality!

2. Mignon & Pierrel, ‘Les Floressences’ Brut – gold medallist at the International Wine Festival, 2004

Flowery nose, expressive with a touch mineral, the champagne is a bit more discreet on the palate but proves to have a good texture and well integrated bubbles.
This Champagne would improve with a further two years in your cellar.

3. Pierrel, ‘Les Oressences’ Chardonnay

Nose developing notes of citrus, floral and a hint yeasty. The palate is pleasant, balanced by a lively refreshing acidity.
Well suited for aperitif but could be a very interesting match with a carpaccio of tuna served with fennel.
